11 things people ask about dadokim

Still wondering about something? Email us at hello@dadokim.com.

1. Is this hypnosis? Does it actually work?
It isn’t real hypnosis. It’s a small ritual for your mind — a slow breath, a single card. No guaranteed results.
What people do tell us: taking a moment to just stop helped.
2. Is this medical, therapy, or treatment?
No. dadokim is not a medical, counseling, therapy, or diagnostic service.
It’s offered as a non-medical wellness experience, following Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare guidelines for non-medical health-management services.
If you’re really struggling, please reach out for help first. In Korea: 119 (emergency) · 109 (suicide prevention) · 1577-0199 (mental health). Outside Korea: findahelpline.com.
3. Why is only one card a day free?
Because it’s a daily ritual. Taking in one slow line a day — letting it sink in instead of grabbing a new one every hour — is what keeps the ritual meaningful.
When you want more, a card pack (from $1.90) tops you up. Credits are good for 5 years — plenty of time to take it slow. See card packs
4. Do I really get a free card for sharing?
Yes. When you share your card link and a friend opens it for the first time and finishes a card, you both earn +1 credit.
Up to 3 a day, no lifetime cap. It’s automatic and instant.
5. How is my data used?
The line you write is gone the moment your card is made. It’s never stored.
Only your category, payment, and sharing actions are kept — anonymously, for statistics.
If you pay, your email is used for receipts and to restore cards on another device. No ad pixels, no third-party trackers.

6. How is this different from an AI service?
An AI service gives you long, impersonal answers (around 300 characters on average). dadokim gives you one line, right away (about 30 characters, 30 seconds).
An AI service is a general chatbot. dadokim is a ritual for your mind — built on mental-health guidelines, watching for crisis signals.
7. Can I use it anonymously?
Yes. No forced sign-up, no password.
If you pay, we ask for your email only for receipts and to restore your cards on another device (there’s no sign-up form).
Free users can just use it — no email needed.
8. What if a card doesn’t fit?
That’s okay. Get the next card, or try a different category.
The cards vary on purpose — you won’t get the same one every time.
And if a card is ever inappropriate, there’s a [Report] button — we review reports right away.
9. Can I get a refund?
Yes. Unused credits are fully refundable within 7 days. If you’ve used some, the rest is refunded pro-rata (1 credit = the per-card price).
Example: you pay $1.90 for a 10-card pack and use 3 → $1.33 refunded.
Request it on the refund page → handled within 3 business days.
10. You use an LLM — is that safe?
The line you write is sent to an LLM API to generate your card — and on the provider’s side, it’s auto-deleted after 30 days (LLM API policy).
dadokim’s own database never stores the line you wrote (only a hash — no sensitive data).
A 4-level safety router (pre-LLM rule checks) catches crisis signals before anything is sent.
11. Why is it called dadokim?
dadokim is the sound of the Korean word for soothing, read aloud.
Because when you’re shaken, I want to soothe all of you — and even when words can’t do it all, I want at least one card that can.
da·do·kim. Say it out loud and you’ll hear da·dok·im — “soothing.”
